Join us as we take a look through the lens at how the work progressed. We begin with an original photograph of the showroom, where over the past 13 years we have welcomed tens of thousands of customers, partners, colleagues and others.
The entire original structure was demolished with the aim of enlarging the showroom space and providing even higher-quality services across a larger area.
This was followed by the laying of a new concrete slab and the gradual construction of the framework that forms the basis of the current, modernised showroom.
Once we had completed the structural work and fitted the windows, work on the interior began. Naturally, as flooring specialists, we oversaw every stage of laying the new floor – including the preparation of the subfloor. Did you know that our showroom also has underfloor heating?
The
foundation of a floor that serves you well is proper levelling, which evens out any unevenness.
Incidentally, throughout the refurbishment, our makeshift shop operated in a section of the warehouse. However, after the reopening, this space was transformed into an OUTLET – the first of its kind in our region. Here, customers can find flooring from discontinued ranges at clearance prices.
Interestingly, we managed to preserve the full flooring patterns, and some customers even appreciated the industrial look of this temporary shop.
This space was another where we tested the flooring for our showrooms – it is the same as the one we already have in Dolný Hričov and which we subsequently used in the showroom in Žilina itself.
It is the Virtuo collection from Gerflor, for which we are the exclusive distributor on the Slovak market. The glued vinyl in a tile pattern can withstand the high footfall in the shop. What’s more, it’s easy to clean, and combined with underfloor heating, the shop will feel pleasantly warm even in winter.
Once the flooring was installed, it was time for bespoke furniture, electronics and, most importantly, display stands with flooring. Here too, we’ve introduced several new features that make the whole experience of shopping for flooring or accessories more interactive.
A big hit is the ‘Floorify’ display stand, which is interactive – simply pull a sample from the stand, and the LED screen will then show you the same design in a room setting. Alternatively, you can use the figurines to switch between presentation videos for different types of flooring.
In the background of the photo above, you can see a meeting room, which will, however, soon be used for another new feature currently in the pipeline. In collaboration with selected designers, it will be possible to visit the showroom at any time – even at midnight.
A designer will guide you through the current range at SOLIDWAY in complete privacy. You can discuss your ideas in a space where you’ll be the only one present.
And what else is a must in one of Slovakia’s most modern flooring showrooms? A children’s play area, hassle-free parking, coffee and tea, comfortable seating to spark your inspiration, and hundreds of samples. And, of course, our expert sales staff.
The Žilina-based company SOLIDWAY is thus rounding off a very successful year full of new developments – we launched the brand-new Gerflor Virtuo range, organised two extensive training sessions for over a hundred partners, refurbished our second showroom, exhibited at several trade fairs and exhibitions, and much more.
Even the most authoritative figure amongst media personalities in the construction sector – Vladimír Voštinár – has placed his trust in us. He chose us as his partner and, as the enthusiasm is mutual, he didn’t hesitate to recommend us to others in a video.
Come and visit our new showroom in Žilina on weekdays from 07:30 to 17:00 and see for yourself that even choosing a floor can be an experience – with the flooring specialists at SOLIDWAY. If you have any questions, please message us via the chat below
